n-Track Studio is a multitrack recorder for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. A complete recording studio in your PC: all you need is a card and some free space on your hard disk to store audio data.

The program supports simultaneous recording from multiple 16 and 24 bit soundcards, and real-time audio effects can be applied non-destructively to each track, allowing the user to listen immediately to the result of a change in the parameters of an effect: up to 25 combinations of effects per track are allowed. Built-in effects include Reverb, AutoVol, Echo, Pitch Shift, Chorus and Track EQ.

The program can use third party DirectX and VST plug-ins to process in real-time audio signals in a number of different ways. Effect can also be used to process the recorded signal in real-time so that the computer can act as a multi-effects device.

The program uses 24 bit (32 bit floats) resolution for mixing and effects processing. Various wave files formats are supported, mono & stereo tracks are can coexist in the same song and wave editing operations can be performed from within the program. MIDI tracks can be imported end exported to regular MIDI files, and edited using the built in piano-roll based MIDI editing. All the audio tracks are saved as standard wave files and mixed "on the fly" during playback. Volume and pan evolution can be programmed by drawing on the timeline window. When all the tracks have been recorded and all the settings are correct, it's possible to mix-down all the tracks to a single wave file for recording it to a compact disk using a CD recorder or for distributing it through the Internet (using the built-in mp3 encoder).

Fl Studio 10

By vinnie91 on Thu, 2012-02-02 23:57
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: It isn't Cubase.
Many computer musicians hold FL Studio dear as their first - and sometimes only - musical love. If you're not yet familiar with it, here's a crash course: it's a DAW that enables you to record/edit...

It records. That's pretty much it.

By hx2 on Sun, 2011-08-14 23:32
Pros: Cheap, multi-platform, multi-computer, decent sound quality
Cons: Hard to grasp for beginners, lack of plug-ins
To start things off, I will name one aspect that is unbeatable: the price. In comparison with competing products, save for open source software, it's the cheapest one out there. Though from there on,...

By nida.rasheed on Fri, 2011-05-20 22:28
Pros: Compact and portable. Multi-platform and as near to professional quality as one can get.
Cons: Requires considerable knowledge to use to its full capacity. May be too difficult for some people.
n-Track Studio is a program that will turn a computer into a professional recording and editing studio. As long as you have the hardware, this program takes care of the software part of recording and...

Pros: an inexpensive and fun to watch and looks great, costs a bit.
Cons: The lack of features that most musicians need. Difficult to navigate, and only for PC, is not effective enough to be worth the money at all
It is not to say that the high-end belongs to everyone. Let's say you're a beginner musician. Not necessarily have all the effects and properties, N-Track is not. You can do something simple,...

Young beginnings of a Rising Star

By stephenjnr on Sun, 2009-06-07 06:28
Pros: Easy EQ and Sound effects module, MP3 encoder was stable, familiar outlook. Plenty of tools and options that you can shake a stick at plus enough grunt to get beginners excited and go 4 by 4 crazy (which means burning hours and not know it!).
Cons: As I ran the program I noticed immediately that the cosmetics didn’t follow the traditional subtle look that semi pro/pro packages are dressed which made the whole experience feel a little childish and chaotic! Sticky processing which shouldn't be an issue for the 64bit version (i would think).
Let me begin by saying that I have not used many music creation software’s, I had no real expectation but by looking at the price I couldn’t help but assume that I was gonna get what I paid for!...

By Ted Ballantine on Sun, 2009-01-04 07:46
Pros: A fraction of the price of other at-home studio programs. Not Mac compatible (Trust me Mac users, this is a positive)
Cons: Lack of funtions that most musicians need. Hard to navigate
I consider myself well qualified to judge music production programs; In the last 4 or 5 years I have purchased several products in the same vein as N-Track, spending anywhere from $30 to $1200. I...
