Review:

Alien Shooter is a simple minded game that is just what the title says it is. While the playable demo doesn't really give you much time to play, you get a basic idea of how the game is going to be later on.
The menus in the game are simple to work with and everything is pretty much self explanitory in the game. Your controls in the game consist mostly of using w,s,a, and d and your mouse for aiming and shooting while you use the numbers for selecting weapons. Everything is easy to use and easy to do.

The title doesn't hide anything when it comes to what you have to do in the game. Shooting aliens is about all you do here. Mindless senseless shooting of aliens. Oh, well, actually you can pick up money in the game for weapon upgrades as well.

One of the problems i ran into was the fact that at many points you can't see the aliens hidden behind walls because of the 2D view you're limited to in the game. This can get frustrating when the aliens really start ganging up on you because you can't see them till the last minute. Next thing you know, you're dead.

It's also too easy to get stuck in corners during a fight. The simple level design makes it easy to find yourself cornered when you have a hoard of alien enemies coming at you.

Another issue i ran into is the weapon switching. The only way to switch weapons that i found was by hitting the corresponding number to the weapon. This can get increasingly frustrating when there are a lot of aliens coming at you. If you don't know the keyboard very well it makes it difficult to get a new weapon, increasing your chances of being attacked.

One of the fun factors in this game is at times i can see myself getting a bit addicted to this game. Trying to overcome hoards of aliens(which, by the way, look like those tremor things in Tremors 2)all by yourself with just a few guns at your side.

I did, at times, find myself almost in a competitive mood against those aliens. When a large group of them start coming at you, it gets a bit exciting in a sense. Unfortunately, that's really where the fun ends. It doesn't get much more exciting than that.

I find it hard to believe that someone would pay $18 for a game like this. I will admit there is an addiction factor in the game. It can get crazy in the game with lots and lots of aliens coming at you at once.

However, with the outdated graphics, ultra simple gameplay, and the fact that you have to get a code to unlock red blood makes this game not worth the time and money. I might pay $5 for this game but really nothing more.

Conclusion:

I would have to say that if this game had a lower pricetag i may recommend it. Because of the high pricetag, im going to have to say no to this game.
