Review:

Luxor: Amun Rising is an interesting puzzle game. It is nothing the average gamer hasn't seen before. The gameplay consists of a ramp or track that is in some sort of shape or pattern, colored orbs, and a "shooter."

You move the shooter horizontally with the mouse and left click to shoot a randomized colored orb, and you right click between the current orb and the next orb. The object is to fill a bar at the bottom of the screen by ridding the screen of waves of colored orbs as they travel down the track, all the while, keeping the orbs from hitting your bases at the bottom of the screen.

Graphically it is goregeous for a small game, and runs just fine on a non-accelerated computer. However, the quantity of visually appealing levels is low. It becomes repetitive real early.

Audio is solid, music is good as well. Won't win any awards, but it is good enough, and that is all that matters.

Controls are iffy at times. There are no visible options to play with arrow keys and the space bar, and this can make the hand cramp after a few stages. Sometimes it seemed that things weren't as responsive as they should have, however, isn't something that would stop one from enjoying the game.

The Challenge is fine, there are three difficulty levels which will suit a variety of players, and adds to the replay of the game as it is very easy to get better with time.

Gameplay is good, nothing earth shattering, but there is quite a bit of strategy involved, as well as intensity. There is also a variety of the standard pickups.

Conclusion:

This is is a good game, not necessarily great, but maybe on that line between good and great, it would dependo on one's personal preference.
