Review:

Coffee Tycoon is a simple game for folks of all ages. However, it is especially beneficial for kids because it teaches them how to operate a business. You can start up your coffee business by picking a city, choosing a name, putting together a menu, and hiring employees.

There are three types of employees (executives, managers, and baristas) who perform different functions and affect your business' outcome. Customers will spend money buying your coffee. With a good recipe, they will spend more. Many factors can affect your customers' satisfation, such as the weather or the ingredients you choose.

With the right recipes, you can earn a considerable amount of money which you can use to purchase upgrades for your store, like better espresso machines, stocks, or advertising.

Your goal is to continually expand until you have a large chain of stores and reach 1 million customers. It is a rather repetitive game, but it is based upon other tycoon games like the classic Pizza Tycoon. Kids can learn to create different business strategies and see how these strategies affect each store.

Conclusion:

Interesting at first, but you will soon tire after seeing the same customers every day. Kids up to age 13 will enjoy running their own stores. For everyone else, play the demo version. Grade: C+
