FILERECOVERY Professional Review

To start with the program took long to start, I thought it was my computer but not my PC is very fast and other programs open very fast.

However with being mentioned, the help section is VERY DETAILED and the fact that actual screen pictures are included gives the user a very good and quick understanding. Different sections of the Help section were hyperlinked hence making referencing easy and very quick.

I did find a section of the Help section to be a bit too technical for the average user. I'm talking of the 'File System Issues and Compatibility' part where technical terms like; signature search algorithm clusters, MFT e.t.c. were used. The software also mentions FAT 32 and NTFS. Most people won’t know the difference unless they are computer technicians.

On the main issue of file recovery, I did recover some of my previously lost file and all I did was follow the steps as outlined by the Wizard. I also tried the longer version of doing it and it also worked very well. The longer version is a little confusing if you click the 'Scan Options' button. The options in the window that appears are just too many. There are basically 5 tabs, but each tab has several options in it, the Scan options tab has 15 options in it! This doesn't make file recovery any easier. I would have preferred to recover all the files, then try and sort them later. Otherwise this program kind of goes the other way round.

Otherwise, the program did deliver and I was satisfied with the results.
