Review:

Virtual DJ is a music interface that allows you to add your MP3 into a mixer and adjust the bass and treble levels. You are also able to create your own play list and cross fade in between songs, but there are probably twenty other DJ programs out there that allow you to do this plus some. Virtual DJ Studio does not allow the DJ to add their spice into the music. There was no turntable to allow you to add a scratch or two into the song, nor does it allow you to do a quick repeat. The one option that I found to be a plus for this software is the karaoke program. This allows you to add songs to a play list and you are able to specify who is singing that song or who will be singing a song at a later time. But the downside to this option is finding the files that have both the audio side and the lyric side.

The text on the interface is very small; it seems they could have used more space to make the text larger so one can actually read what is written.

There is a glitch with the karaoke “show singers list” button. The new window that pops up does not close with the red X. You must uncheck the button again or click the red X vigorously.

Adding the MP3's into the mixer was very simple, just right click on the mixer you want to use and click open file

The help interface is a very useful tool and is much needed to learn how to completely utilize this software.

Karaoke is a great feature but you can’t just load any song and expect the lyrics to pop up. You need to have a file with the mp3 (audio) and a CDG file (lyrics). I was excited to see a karaoke option, because this is a great feature that a lot of other DJ software’s do not come with. This is a great first step, but maybe the software could see the MP3 file that you have and go to the web and automatically download the lyrics.

Conclusion:

This software is only good for making a play list and cross fading in between songs, you are unable to add in your own personal touch, like adding scratches or quick repeats, but this software does have the karaoke option and if one knows how to get the required files, than this product is worth the buy for parties.
