Address Magic Review
Does the job but is not indispensable for backing up addresses
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
-layout -ease of installation -instructions and navigation -move contacts between popular email clients
-difficult to work with .CSV export function -No support for Outlook 2007 -No clear option for importing contacts into Thunderbird -Price may be steep for functions lots of people who deal with email already know how to do
The software is very easy to install, very straight forward process. I find the user interface clearly laid out and every button does what it's intended and labeled for.
It's quite simple to do basic backups of addresses and even to distribute them back and forth between some of the most popular email clients (outlook, gmail, aol, etc.).
Two issues I had with the software was that it didn't give me the option to import from Outlook to Thunderbird (it gave me the option to do the opposite though), and it was a bit complicated to match your fields with the ones given by the program when importing contacts to a CSV file.
I like the fact that you are able to import emails and you can also choose from which folder; I also liked the functionality to export calendar items (it was Beta at the time of testing).
Is it worth $27? it depends on the user, most technical/email savvy users who have probably migrated or exported their contacts to .pst files once or twice will not have major use for this software. A casual or home user will find it useful and will benefit from the ease-of-mind of an easy address book backup solution.
I think Address Magic is a software mainly aimed for home users, I wouldn't use this software at a professional or enterprise level.
