Review:

The first thing that popped into my mind when I entered Ant War was:”My 5 years old cousin would like it.” – and none the less, he does like it. But the point I’m trying to make here is that I had lots of fun playing it. Ok, maybe not fun like in “hilarious”, but it was an interesting game to play.

Your job is to manage an ant’s nest, move it around and fight other insects. OK, now don’t get too excited.

To control it, you’re just using your mouse, maybe with a few keyboard shortcuts here and there, but nevertheless it is quite intuitive. At first it can get confusing, I’ll be honest, if you never played this type of game before, but five minutes in and you will handle it like a pro.

What’s cool about it is that once you get to the third level you get really into it and forget what time it is. It has happened to me and got me in trouble actually.

The graphics are cartoon-like, which is why I was telling you little kids enjoy it. The soundtrack and effects go well with what they’re trying to express.

If you get really into it and you play it at a medium pace you can complete all levels in 2-3 hours, but then you will want to play it again.

Bottom line, it is kind of a silly game, but if you don’t care about it’s “awesomeness”, you will really enjoy it. It is the kind of game a strategic, analytic kind of guy will appreciate, but kids can have fun with it too, although they won’t get past 5-6 levels in less than a day.

Conclusion:

So is it worth investing in this game? Well if you have a spare 20 bucks and some time to waste sure. But if you are looking for an unforgettable experience and days of gameplay, than this is not the game for you.
