Review:

Everybody should have heard about system backup and restore, but Acronis True Image is way better IMO.

There are two ways you can make backup, but either way involves installing the software. First is normal installation and use. You can make make backups while in Windows, which is very convenient. You can save the archive in various media, including shared folder and ftp server.

Second method need you to make rescue CD. When you have this CD, you doesn't really need the software any more. What I meant is, you can boot your system from the CD and make backups/ restore backups. You can also make disk cloning using just this CD. The interface (on Linux) is akin to it's Windows counterpart.

You should make backup before your hard disk fail. One of the reason is, True Image would take really long time on normal settings to backup your data; sometimes the backup process may fail.

Conclusion:

Worth every penny spent
