Pros:
Easy to learn, hard to master. A seemingly endless amount of levels. Good for casual gaming.
Cons:
The MIDI music becomes really grating really fast. Extremely lackluster graphics and gameplay. No incentive to progress other than the next level.
Review:

BrickShooter is a casual puzzle game that COULD keep your attention for a short while. It's one of those colored jewel aligning games but with way less shiny jewels and less exciting gameplay. If you're a hardcore puzzle gamer looking for a challenge, then this might strike your fancy for at least a LITTLE while. Players who are more into the current generation of gaming, however, will find it quite anachronic in regards to gameplay, sound and visuals. Even very casual gamers who like to pick up puzzle games of this genre would likely be turned off by the lack of exciting sound effects and fun sparkly explosions. Everything is just way too 'bread and butter' here. Even the game's title lacks any creativity what-so-ever. The gameplay also lacks any kind of reward system. When you clear a level, there is no kind of fanfare or even a sound effect to celebrate your accomplishment. all you get is the same boring music as you are instantly transported to the next level. And let me tell you, the music is BOOOORING. There are several songs to choose from and they all start with this really generic-sounding organ. I suppose that we can't expect too much from General MIDI, since it is used mainly just to keep loading times to a minimum and ensure smooth gameplay, but the songs REALLY need some more dynamics, as nearly all of the music takes place at one single volume level.

Conclusion:

Considering the good challenge that is contained in this game, had the creator been more careful with the production values, it could have become quite the addiction for any puzzle game enthusiast. But the boring graphics and sound really kill it. Take this one back to the shop and remix it! It does have a chance!
