Review:

An application for retrieving lost PDF passwords is quite interesting. Although the encryption used on PDF documents is relatively advanced, GuaPDF instantly removes the limitations set on documents.

It is very important to note that the application does not actually remove passwords set to open the file (it only does so for 40 bit encrypted documents), but rather, removes the restrictions set on printing or extracting text from documents.

The downside to that is that, if you have set a password for opening files at the default Acrobat settings, then you have no chance of re-opening the file, as it's encryption surpasses the capabilities of the application.

An important and positive thing to mention is that GuaPDF supports all versions of PDF files, up to the latest version 9. That means that you should have no difficulty in using the application on any sort of file.

Another good thing is that the application can use multi-core processors to open protected files quicker.

Another neat thing is the User Interface. Although not visually captivating, it uses the default computer style, and is right in doing so. It is very simple to use, as simple as opening the file and as choosing a directory for the file to be saved in.

A very comprehensive help file is attached, however, the user should have no need to open it (except for finding out about the full set of features of the application).

Conclusion:

A good application that works - GuaPDF can only be recommended.
