Review:

Why do you need a defragmenter? What does it do? Why I like O&O Defrag over built-in application?

Yes, it really is true: Defragmentation programs can really make a computer faster.

Unlike other defrag software this title does not require you to stop applications in order to defrag, and there is no limit on the size of hard drives that can be defragged.

There are five different defrag methods on offer for all needs: Stealth, Space, Complete/Name, Complete/Modified, Complete/Access.

The Stealth is designed for use on PCs with large files and little free space, while the Space method is designed for heavily fragmented drives. The three Complete methods (Name, Modified and Access) sort the files on your drives in different ways - alphabetically, according to date last changed, and according to date last accessed respectively.

The Name method is best for PCs where files are rarely changed, the Modified method for PCs where files rarely change, and Access method for most normal. As an option, whenever your screensaver is activated, the defrag process will start. When you return to your PC, defragging pauses. Other expected features, such as scheduled defrags and report generation, are also included.

O&O also has a scheduling feature with quite a few options, which obviously let you create automated defrag times. A very nice feature of O&O, which would be more popular for servers, is the Activity Guard option which allows you to schedule all the defrag events with the power of monitoring system performance while running in the background. It will adjust the resources allocated to O&O on the fly so as not to affect system performance while you work.

Conclusion:

If you work with video or the speed of your computer is of crucial importance, do consider getting O&O Defrag Professional.
