Pros:
• Great graphics • Realistic sound effects • Realistic game styles and strategies • The bluffs are great: all ins and raises

• Only three difficulty levels are available • Owning the entire town doesn’t help that much. Only $4-6 a week at the cost of $100 and up • Characters are not customizable
Review:

The goal of this game is to acquire enough money by winning poker games against different computer opponents. When you have enough money, you can buy the entire town. Buying the entire town entitles you with a high reputation and allows you to move to the next town.

When you start with this game, you will begin with $600 in your pocket. You can use that money to buy position at poker house while you can use the excess money to buy several properties. At first you can only play tournament games. When you have built your reputations you can play in cash games, in which you can bet your properties. If luckily you win the game you can win houses from your opponents.

When you have built high reputation, you can now move to other town and play against the best player of that town. Each town has its own reputed players. Each has a set of styles. One thing that’s good about this game especially for beginner is its hints. You can watch your opponents closely whether they are steamy or in tilt. These players will likely make a mistake.

Modes of playing Governor of Poker games: You can either choose quick poker of campaign poker. In quick poker match you can choose whether you like to play against 7 or 4 opponents. In this mode, there is no need to buy properties and build reputations.

In campaign mode, player needs to earn enough money to buy properties and acquire reputation. This mode is lengthy. You have to beat 13 towns to finish the campaign. You have to face against several opponents with different sets of poker skills and abilities.

When you have acquired enough money you can buy the entire town entitling you to be the most feared Poker player in town. But that’s not really necessary in my opinion. Properties are way too expensive ($100 and up) considering the small $4-6 a week income for each house.

One thing that I like about this game is its great graphics, sound effects. It has an excellent graphics considering its small size. The characters and landscapes are in great details. The sound effect is also very impressive too. The characters are not that good. They look funny and not customizable. It would have been better if the characters are customizable.

Conclusion:

Despite of its absence of character customization, limited difficulty levels, Governor of Poker is an excellent poker game. I only learned playing poker in this game, and I really love this game. Youda Games has done a great job.
