Review:

In all honesty I have downloaded, installed, and uninstalled almost EVERY Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, and Anti-Malware program on the market. The problem is? They're all basically the same.

XoftSpy is NOT an exception to this.

While the program itself bears no real layout or use flaws, it tends to have a slow update server (I was capped at 75kb/s and my usual download speed is 400kb/s+) and high memory usage.

Let's start with the visuals:

Over all the program looks nice. You can tell the creators put quite a bit of effort into the graphical portion of the program.

The Layout:

Everything is fairly easy to find, I had no trouble figuring out how to run it. The updater runs itself automatically, and the program comes with a built-in scheduler for automatic scanning while you sleep.

The scans:

While the program does a decent job of detecting and removing many malicious software, it doesn't hold up it's end in terms of the price. AVG company offers a free malicious software removal tool which detects many things that this program did not. I found XoftSpy left a number of high risk trojans and hijackers on my computer which AVG's program picked up straight away. On top of the only mediocre definitions, the program also spiked my system usage from anywhere between 75-98%, making my computer virtually inoperable while the program was running. This is a big no-no for me.

The program itself was okay, but as I said: There's free software out there which is much more conclusive than XoftSpy.

Conclusion:

Not worth the cash. I would not spend the money on this program, and I have used MANY different ones. Trust me people -- There's better out there!
