- Does not have support for 3GP/MPEG4(iPod)/PSP formats, but they have a separate product for this - WinAVI 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod Video Converter 3.1, but it will cost you extra - Can be quite confusing for beginners, however its help section offers How To's
Review:

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to find a good 'all-in-one' video converter that is free or an affordable price.

Thats when I discovered WinAvi. I good lightweight video converter, offering compatibility with all major formats. It offers conversion to and from all major formats - WMV, DVD, VCD, MPEG, AVi, RM etc, and supports conversion from some others like SWF, FLA etc (Which is helpful is you download videos off the net - YouTube etc).

WinAvi is packed with a variety of both novice and advanced user tools. The one I liked the most is being able to merge several video files into one and then convert them.

For most WinAvi will be very easy to use, but for some beginner's they may find it slightly confusing choosing the bitrate, quality etc but the program defaults do ok.

One thing I did notice is their separate software is required for conversion to iPod/PSP format. They have a separate product to do this, but it will cost you extra.

So all-in-all WinAvi is a great product if your willing to pay the price, but if your a cheapo like myself try looking for some free software that does the same job (but with a little less features) elsewhere.

Conclusion:

If your willing to pay money for a video converter, this is the one to have. It offers some helpfuls tools and high-quality conversion. Whether its for DVD's, WMV's, AVI's or MPEG WinAvi is a great product. However for those of you like me, who only ever convert a few videos and don't want to buy, you may want to look elsewhere for a free alternative.
