Pros:
When it comes to converting picture to font, Font Creator 5 does a good job + the help file is OK
Cons:
No support, their website is down, no advanced drawing tools, you need a picture editor (ex.Photoshop) to experience its full power
Review:

If you're looking for a nice, easy and comfortable to use, feature-full font editor, then Font Creator 5 is not what you're looking for.

While the user interface is acceptable (although they could have done better, by making it a bit more modern), the lack of easy to use options is noticeable. While you can draw a couple of basic shapes and lines (contours), you will mostly have to import data from pictures. Although it's a good feature to have, decent drawing tools would have to go side by side with advanced image importing, but Font Creator 5 lacks advanced drawing.

As for help and support - the help file is indeed pretty useful, but it also links to their homepage and forums and FAQs and their website in general. Unfortunately their website is currently inexistent. Well there goes all of the support part... It seems that the product is either no more, or that they are seriously updating their website.

As for usefulness - yes, it does the job. If you've got Photoshop or even Paint (well, maybe not just Paint), you can do some pretty awesome stuff with Font Creator 5. It automatically traces the contours, meaning that it converts your jpg, gif, bmp files to the special format used by fonts, and it does a pretty good job at converting the files.

You can then quickly and easily test the font and save it directly to your desired font format.

Conclusion:

It does the job, but its lack of features, lack of support, lack of homepage and pretty high price make you think twice before selecting this product.
