For the basic user, it is a good software and can be categorized as one stop center for photo manager software. This company wanted to be like a Microsoft. They bundled everything inside the package. Not many people like the device detector, or their editing software.
The feature is similar like the older version of acd see. But the newer version of 8 is really heavy and also a memory eater. Plus when you install it on your Vista running on your pc then you must have a very good PC and more than 2Gb of RAM to run it faster.
ACD SEE 8 is a good management software for your picture collection. The installation is like breeze but if you do not need the bundled software, you must select is manually. Or else, it will install it to your hard drive.
For the software that have been install like the Device Detector, you can easily prevent it from the start up menu. Click START and RUN. Type MSCONFIG. Then select the STARTUP tab. Deselect the program which came from ACDSEE. It will help your PC run smoothly.
