Review:

I have used WinAVI Converter for quite some time now. I would actually go as far as to say this is hands down one of the best Video conversion tools out there. If not the best.

The interface is sleek and straight forward on startup, you have your basic options to convert to AVI from WMV/RM/ect.. RM, WMV and so on and so forth. Overall, the software is basically a DVD creating powerhouse, no matter what the file type. The only downfall is that your DVD conversion is always from the .AVI file type. So look for slightly longer conversion times if you are converting RM or MOV files over to DVD. For example; if you export a .mov from 3dsMax and need to convert it over to a DVD.

The advanced options are nice, and fairly straight forward, as far as Aspect Ratio, the DVD Medium format, Target Format (NTSC or PAL). You are also able to modify the Audio quality from the advanced menu as well as even add Menu's and chapters. The advanced options also allow you to modify the brightness, contrast, zoom, and audio boost just to name a few.

My biggest disappointment with WinAVI however is that from time to time it has a difficult time fitting everything onto one 4.7Gb DVD. You can work around this by tuning your advanced options, and possibly cutting out your DVD menu, but that really keeps this from getting a perfect score from me.

Conclusion:

WinAVI is hands down the best software out there for creating your own DVD's. Lots of options for the power user, and user friendly for the novice user.
