I think BADCOPY is one of the effective file recovery software among the ones which is available currently in the market. But still, It has got some disadvantages. Mainly, when recovering files of type Images, if some sectors of the disk (whether its floppy, flash disk or CD) are completely lost, it automatically fills the unavailable spaces with junk space, which is shown as simply white space when the file is opened. If the type of the file is Movie in the same situation, that file cant be opened. It'll show error in Media Player.
Bit still it copies data effectively from merely damaged media like CD and floppy, when normal windows file copy system can't do.
About the cost of the software, Yeah! its bit costly. And I think thats the one of the few disadvantages of BADCOPY. You must try yourself, whether its worth for you.
