Review:

When I first played Dungeon Scroll , I expected something more. I enjoy the usual Scrabble, so I thought that an RPG-themed monster bashing word game would be fun. Well, this one isn't.

The first thing that strikes you when you first play is the graphics. I believe the guys from RTSoft stumbled upon a time machine, because I felt like I had been transported 7 years in the past. However, it is a word game, so graphics shouldn't really count so much. But it would be nice if it had a more attractive appearance.

The sound and music were the first things I turned off, so not much more to say here.

The gameplay is fairly simple. You start off in a dungeon, and every room has a monster. When you defeat your current room monster, you advance to the next one. The monster attacks you from time to time, and each attack deducts from your hitpoints. To attack, you must form a word with the letters you are given, and each word does a certain amount of damage. Enough said.

The first 4-5 levels were entertaining enough, but then the game becomes repetitive and boring. See some words, use them, then start guessing as hell. I think you can beat the game using maximum five lettered games. The producers' efforts are admirable, as some elements as bonus letters and bonus feats are introduced, but they don't bring the game to a good enough level of entertainment. I played it several times in order to get a good picture for this review, but after this it's coming right off the hard disk. And the price seems a bit big for what the game has to offer.

Conclusion:

I don't feel smarter after playing this game because the most fun one has with word games is when they are played with others. Setting aside the decent, yet lacking graphics, this game just doesn't make me play it again.
