Review:

CoffeeCup GIF Animator is a perfect alternative for an individual who already has the images they wish to animate, and does not wish to spend a lot of money on unneeded features.

That being said, CoffeeCup is extremely easy to use, due to the fact it only contains the features you need. A simple step-by-step dialogue assits you in setting up your initial animation, allowing you to select which images you wish to use, and the default time for each frame.

You can even choose the color pallette you wish to work with so as to enhance compatibility with different web browsers. You can set how long each frame is presented in the animation, as well as its order: how the next frame is presented in relation to the previous frame.

A typical animation has one frame replacing the previous one, however CoffeCup allows you to stack the images if you wish. This enables you to make layered animations showing diffent levels of detail should you wish.

Another feature of CoffeCup is the ability to import small *.avi files and automatically convert it into a frame animation for editing, simplifying the posting of small videos to your website. You also have the option to open a seperate preview window that allows you to watch the animation in real time as you are editing its properties.

When saving the animations you create, you have the choice of saving it as a basic *.gif file, or even exporting them as a Macromedia Flash file.

Conclusion:

Valuable software for basic users without access to more expensive utilities wishing to set up animations on their websites. Very effective as long as you have software/hardware to provide your own images.
