Intro

Waste time in new and exciting ways!

The Story

Unless you’ve lived as a hermit for your entire life, you’ve learned how to play solitaire by now. Who hasn’t whittled away the hours of boredom at work or at home by playing computer solitaire? But after awhile, that same game gets boring and so you need a new challenge and new horizon to conquer! In comes Action Solitaire which has 52 different kinds of solitaire to waste your time with.

Each game has the specific goal of trying to accumulate various amounts of points to get onto the next round.

The Good And The Bad

I personally really enjoy playing solitaire on my computer and had no idea that there were so many of them out there to be honest. I knew that there were a few but 52?

Normally this would be the part of the review where I list the many pro’s and con’s of this game but let’s be realistic here, it’s 52 kinds of solitaire. There isn’t any massive story that must be unwoven, no princesses that need to be saved from an evil wizard, no enemies from outer space that need to be blown into tiny little pieces, just cards… lots and lots of cards.

Luckily the developers of this game thought about this and added some interesting features into the full version such as the ability to receive email newsletters, play online against others who have nothing better to do with their time than play solitaire and download additional types of cards (as in the pictures on the back of them) but all in all these features are pretty low key and nothing that I would normally get excited about.

Music

As with the overall story to this game, there really isn’t any to speak of and not really many bells and whistles to entertain you while you play. If you want a soundtrack, put on some headphones and listen to your favorite ‘Solitaire mix’ CD.

Overall

This isn’t a game that I’m going to get super excited about. Unless you’re a serious solitaire player or desperate for something new to kill time with, I really don’t see any real reason why you need to invest in this game.

While I’m sure that it’ll be entertaining at first, after awhile it’s going to become another one of those background files that you only open when you’re really desperate for something to kill time with at home or at work and if you have extra money laying around to spend on 52 different kinds of solitaire, I have a lovely little ‘Make Me Emperor’ fund that I would love to talk to you about.

Conclusion:

There are much better things to spend your money on than this. Final Grade: 69% - D
