Intro

An unoriginal but entertaining concept is still entertaining.

The Story

In front of you is a grid of bottle caps and you have to move them one at a time to create lines of three or more to eliminate them from the board and gain points.

The Good And The Bad

As you can tell by my very brief little synopsis above, this is not a challenging game to figure out. It doesn’t require instructions and it doesn’t require a cheat guide. It requires just a little bit of time to get started and an entire afternoon once you’ve become addicted.

This is such a simple concept that it’s hard to think that this would actually catch on with it’s audience but I found that once I got started it was terribly hard to stop playing long enough to even type this review. I found myself ignoring everything else just to try to get that next line.

Even though it’s an unoriginal concept, the three versions keep it extra interesting. The classic style has no real twists to it. You’re just trying to make lines to make it to the next round. The timed version gives you a minute to come up with lines and the survival mode just has you going until you fail.

The only version of this game that I found remotely irritating was the timed version in which it was really hard to get anything accomplished in the 60 seconds that they offer. They said that you would get to have extra time for big lines but it never felt like enough and I was always pressing to find something new to keep going. I really have to say that this was my least favorite mode.

Unfortunately the difficulty factor of this game was also very low. I started it at the lowest setting because I thought it would be a good way to get used to the game but I found out after only one attempt that I could go up to the hardest level and still do just fine. I really would’ve liked a bit more of a challenge to this game but I’m not complaining too much since I did just spend over an hour glued to my monitor playing this game.

Music

The music in this game does leave a bit to desired. It has an interesting retro feel to it but it wasn’t long before I was turning down the music so that I could listen to my own soundtrack that I found much more enjoyable.

The bells and whistles were also kept to a minimum which I enjoyed since I really didn’t think that either one was really needed in this game. They only distract from the objective as it is.

Overall

Even though this game is an incredibly simple concept, it was still fun and I enjoyed my time with it and would have no problem sitting down with it and wasting an entire night with it which is why I won’t be playing it again anytime soon. I got plenty of things to do without this game taking away hours of my life.

Very recommended if you’re just looking for a fun way to pass the time without having to think too hard.

Conclusion:

Just a fun way to pass the time without taxing your brain. Final Grade: 81% - B
