Review:

This antispyware program works for any version of Windows from Win98SE and up. You are given the option to choose from typical or custom setup. I recommend custom setup because with the default setup (typical) you can have the surprise of seeing your windows messenger service stopped all of sudden, and wonder what on earth has happened. They have this default "Install Windows Messenger Shield" option, and not all the times it is the best choice for your system. You can also uncheck the "Start when windows restarts" box, and prevent possible antivirus/firewall conflicts by doing so.

Webroot Spy Sweeper uses various shields meant to stop different threats that may affect Internet Explorer, System memory, Host files and Startup programs, and you can alter the settings at your convenience once the program is installed. Immediately after starting the program you may want to first update the antispyware definitions, which is recommended, and after that start scanning for spyware and other threats.

The scanning speed is not exactly optimal, and you are asked to close all running programs before threat removal. The user interface shows the same unfortunate look as so many other antispyware programs on the present days market. It is also true that, for this one, the price is reasonable, and it really does a good job, only not as fast as you want it to be done.

Conclusion:

I can never understand why do they do that lately, why do they release unfinished products on the market, lately. This one, like many others, needs extra work before being marketed. It is also true that they offer a fine price.
