Review:

When I saw the word tycoon on the game ‘Moon Tycoon’, I had horrible images of one of the worst games I have ever played, which was ‘Coffee Tycoon’. But I must say how pleasantly surprised I was as I began playing ‘Moon Tycoon‘, this game is excellent and very like ‘ The Sims’ and ‘Sim City’.

Moon Tycoon starts off with the player is on a moon which needs colonised, in order to do that you must build various buildings like water, oxygen and solar power facilities, factories for mining, warehouses, housing complexes, hotels, landing pads for space ships, malls etc. As well as the all important control center from which you assign workers, check your budget and make sure things run smoothly. The game play is very good and has a few options for the game player like at the start you can decide to either play a standard game or try out the tutorial. The tutorial is good because it is really a step-by-step guide of how to build and what to do; your guide through this tutorial is a computer-generated character who appears in the upper left part of your screen. As you complete each part of the colony, you need only to click this character to move on to the next step. Which I found really good as it is very much up to yourself how quickly or slowly you want to proceed. You can also save your game and then return to it later, which could give you a few hours of fun.

The game design is set in 3-D so everything your building is set up for 3-D viewing, the good thing is that the game is designed to let you move easily and freely over the moon surface that is before you on the screen. There is the option of having different camera views, and then of course you have the option of the satellite view, which is good for showing you where the flat land is quickly so you can get building. The graphics are quite good to though the similarities lean more towards ‘Sim City’ than ‘The Sims’ as everything from the views to the buildings and the colony are on the small scale. Although you can see the workers moving around, the images are very much how a car looks from a birds eye view…a blimp on the radar. Other than those few points, my overall thoughts on this game are excellent.

This has the potential of being a very time consuming game as it is easy to lose track once you start to get into the game, which for me took less than a few minutes. The only down side I found was that the trial version only gives you ten minutes of play time, which isn’t really enough time because your just getting started and before you know it, times up. There is also too little trial playtime especially if you have chosen the option to go through the tutorial.

Conclusion:

Overall I thought this was an Excellent Game, Very Addictive, Fun and Interesting and Entertaining. For me thats everything I want in a Game
