Review:

In Gazillionaire, you will act as the President of the trading company in the Kukubia planetary system. Your goal is to make profit – and a lot of it – through transporting goods throughout the system. This shareware demo features many levels of gameplay, including a tutorial that will help guide you through the learning process.

You must get 1,000,000 kubars to win against your six competitors. The good news is that the shareware version allows you to change the intelligence levels of the aliens who will be trading against you, but many of the features can’t be used unless you purchase the full game.

Gazillionaire is almost exactly like other trade-for-profit computer games, only this one is set in unrecognizable areas of the Universe. The B-level graphics, somewhat corny sound effects and totally cheap MIDI music may cause you to turn your speakers off.

The tutorial gets a little harder on every turn, adding new options and challenges. During gameplay, you’ll have to start worrying about your fuel supplies, paying off a starter loan, and buying Voyager’s Insurance.

The shareware demo allows you to play 25 game turns, long enough to get a real taste of the Gazillionaire adventure. As far as shareware goes, this game is pretty good. Intense computer gamers may not want to shell out any money for the full version of this one, though. There is very little about this game that will make players say “wow,” and the trade-for-profit concept has been done before a thousand different ways already.

Conclusion:

Gamers may have some fun with the shareware demo, but play before you buy so you don’t end up being disappointed.
