Review:

Reminds me of the song, "Video Killed the Radio Star," except now, it's the newscaster falling victim. I admit, the voice is a bit jarring, and technology needs to catch up with the concept before for NPR files a lawsuit, but the program serves its purpose, and that is to "read" the news aloud.

I was only half-impressed with the options for creating .wav and .mp3 files because listening to NewsAloud with headphones makes my eyes water. The voice is only bearable when played aloud in a room.

There is a wide enough news selection to catch up on what's going on in the world. Also, with the computerized voice, there are some gems found in the pronunciation of names such as, Joey Buttofuocco.
Very easy to use as you need only install and run a quick update to start your ear workout.

Conclusion:

The only thing holding this program back is the voice. If you can get over that, its an decent program to invest in if buying software is your thing.
