Review:

Dark Basic Pro is some software that I, personally have used for quiet some time. It is a great tool for indie game development, and has some commercial quality abilities which also make it worth your money. Not to mention absolutely NO royalties of any kind, what so ever.

Dark Basic Pro utilizes a basic GUI with an advanced IDE. This software can call on many different plugins (mostly available for free) and has a new feature (again, downloadable) called DarkLights and DarkPhysics, enhancing the way 3d objects deal with eachother in a real time, physical 3d environment. The engine itself, even fully utilizing shaders is quite light, and can be run on most average PC's. The code is alot like BASIC and Microsoft's Visual Basic, with some C++ similarities, considering it was founded from C++ to begin with.

This package also comes with an easy exporter that packages your game into an .exe for easy redistribution.

All types of games are available to design easily, as long as you want to put time into your game. Anything from 3rd Person shooters, RPG's, FPS's, heck, even MMO's and RTS's are fully possible. This software will leave you hooked as it did me, and will make you want to explore the endless possibilities of the game development field!

Conclusion:

A great game design package for an unbeatable price!
