Review:

After many trial-and-error experiences in the last few months (as well as about seventy dollars down the drain), I have finally found what I believe to be the best of the bunch. Cucusoft's iPod video converter does the job, and it does it with amazing quality compared to the output files given by other converter software that I have had the pleasure of spending my hard earned money on. The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. Simply select the file you wish to convert, select the iPod model you have, and then click convert. After the file finishes converting, simply drag the file into a folder recognized by iTunes. The program should automatically recognize the video, and it should be able to sync with your device in less than 5 minutes, depending on the video's length. That's right! You don't have to wait 3 hours for the video to be converted again by iTunes! The best part of this program is that it can convert any type of video. The file extension does not matter, as long as you have a codec for that kind of video file on your computer, the file can be converted. It has some slowdown if you are running multiple applications (otherwise, it runs at a decent speed), but that did not cause me any trouble. The conversion process is a little time consuming, but that is understandable. The only other two things I do not like about this software are that it crashes from time to time and that it does not have support for external subtitles. I rip my DVD videos to an MKV file format and have the subtitle files in the same folder as the video. When I play the videos back on my computer, I am able to select various subtitle tracks, but these tracks cannot be converted with this converter, only the video can. The program has continuous updates, so hopefully this problem will be fixed in the near future. It's not really much of a problem, unless you watch a lot of foreign films, but it would have been nice. Other than that, this program is practically flawless.

Conclusion:

Out of all the programs I have tried, this one is outstanding. Except for a few minor flaws, this program is perfect, and is great for anybody who has a couple videos that they want on the go.
