Review:

When I first booted up the game, I wasn't expecting much. And in that respect, Crusaders of Space did not disappoint. I figured it would be a ripoff of the old Space Invaders games with beefed up graphics and a few added bells and whistles, and indeed that was the case.

There are a few notable differences such as various power-ups and the ability to launch missiles, but neither add anything of substance to the game.

It's the same mindless drivel over and over again. Hold down the fire key. Move left and right avoiding the enemy's incoming fire. Fire missile. Even in hard mode, the game isn't much of a challenge.

Perhaps Fifteen years ago this game would have been more entertaining, but gamers these days aren't as easily amused. We're not a generation of button mashers anymore. And if we ever do have an urge to button mash, there is a plethora of old arcade games out on the Internet for free to subdue that urge.

Game Developers need to stop "reinventing the wheel" and come out with some new material. Based on the outdated concept alone, this game should be freeware at best.

Conclusion:

A horrible attempt to fix something that wasn't broken. There is no reason to pay fifteen dollars for this game when you can find similar games on the Internet for free.
