Pros:
Ten Thumbs has a couple of nice games that will keep kids trying to improve their score.
Cons:
It's rather simplistic and boring. Most learners will lose interest very quickly. Too expensive.
Review:

Ten Thumbs Typing Tutor is a standard typing program. ALthough it announces that it is for "all ages" it is actually geared toward the younger learner. It offers two "games" for the learner to us: The Jungle and The Brick Builder.

The Jungle (for younger children aged 6 - 8) is a fun little exercise in which a viking ship floats down the river toward such hazzards as giant turtle and crocodiles. Each "trap" has letters for the student to type. If they are not typed by the time the ship arrives the animal eats the ship and the learner must start over. The better you get at typing the faster the ship floats down the river.

The Brick Builder is for an older child (9- 12 years old). A complex looking machine grabs bricks if the learner doesn't type fast enough. Once the brick falls off the conveyer belt it crashes down and builds a wall that can not be knocked down. If the letters on the bricks that fall to the conveyer belt are typed fast enough, they are sucked into a machine that helps build a nice little house or other buildings. The better you get, the faster the bricks fall.

Aside from these games the program offers regular lessons. They do adjust to the learners rate of typing; however, they are incredibly boring! Most children would lose interest before they even get through the first one.

Conclusion:

Ten Thumbs has a nice concept using the viking to grab children's interest, but for the money, you can do a lot better.
