Review:

I approached this game very sceptically, the name itself simple and straight to the point, which in essence is what the game is, and it does it well.

The games control system is very easy to get to grips with, just maintaining the basics move, shoot and change weapon which goes far to just make the game a lot simpler. The game also features a small upgrade system where the money you find in game is exchanged for abilities, ammo, armour and weapons; I feel this system fits quite nicely because it is less of a task to earn all the money, more an offered choice of how to progress your character.

The gameplay itself is very fast and action packed, the player will often find themselves swarmed with many enemies coming from all directions. This is not to say the game is overly hard, you are equipped with a large amount of firepower and ammo which makes for very epic gunfights with a vast array of colourful aliens.

As the player progresses the games stages become progressively harder, colour coding the enemies in terms of resilience to attacks and so forth, at later stages the enemies will start to fire rockets and this can cause slowdown when it is done at a massive scale. There is also a rather good musical track to the game which is heavy and fitting with the violence.

All in all this game is simple violence, big guns shooting big monsters with a very easy control scheme and linear levels, it gives you what is said on the box and not much more. I would have expected a cheaper price tag on something with this little replay value and features but it is a real effort, something with such a bad name could of turned out much worse.

Conclusion:

The game delivers what it promises but it could of done more, nice bit of mindless violent fun to blow off steam.
