XoftSpy can be consider a dime for a dozen. There are literally dozens of software similar out in the market. XoftSpy doesn't have any functions that makes it stand out and grab the consumer's attention. The user-friendly function provides a lot of support to new computer use. It might not be the best anti-spyware software, but it is better than most free anti-spyware software but cannot be exactly par with some top anti-spyware software.
There are few selling points in the software that people might factor in and they are:
- The customization that allows you to pick area in the system that you are considering to scan.
- One of the most simple and easy to use spyware that I encountered so far.
- Installation is extremely simple, just few clicks and wait a minute or less.
- The troubleshooting page is simple to use and helpful to people who have trouble running the program.
Some major fatal factors that causes XoftSpy to be such a weak software are:
- The price is same as other top quality items like Trend Micro or Webroot Spyware.
- There are no real-time protection that stops the spyware from entering the system. It only provides definition updates and schedule scans.
- The scanning processes takes up some amount of time and it does a few spyware and adware that other software can detect.
Xoftspy is mediocre compare to other anti-spyware software out in the market. Not highly recommended, with an additional 2 dollars can get higher quality software out in the market.
