Review:

Gutterball 2 was just what I expected it to be, another bowling game. It does have a few now components, such as there are different themed bowling alleys every day for the online play, and that it does have an online version that does not need to be downloaded.

The one thing that I do not like about this game, it the music. It is the absolute worst music I have ever heard in my entire life. It is annoying, repetitive, and distracting. But, when you put the game on mute, it is actually pretty decent.

The opening screen allowed me to choose whether I wanted to download the free trial or play online. It also showed a preview of what the bowling alley was going to look like tomorrow (a Japanese garden theme apparently).

After that screen, it had a few little buttons at the bottom. They were Options, high scores, how to play, and tell a friend. In the Options panel, you could turn the music, effects, crowd, and comments on or off. This was a great relief, and I instantly turned off the music. You could also tailor what special effects you wanted on, and which ones you wanted off (characters, particle effects, weather, reflections) and you could make the game full screen, or virtually any size that you wanted. The only downside to these were that they were only available in the full version and the downloaded trial version.)

The how to play was simple enough, just like the game. And the high scores section was available for your own personal records, as well as the world wide records. When I started the game, I got to choose my name and customize the balls statistics (weight, speed, and spin) which was unique. I liked that.

The actual game play was nice, the screen opened up in 3-D and the game was fun to play against the computer, and against a friend. It was also available to play by yourself. The ball was easy to control, and the graphics were great for this kind of game. He only thing I think that was a little annoying was the comments that the crowd was making. Also, the game may have been a little too easy because you can control the ball as it made its way down the alley.

But, for a bowling game, this is as good as it gets (one you get past the music that is…)!

Conclusion:

This was the best bowling game I have played in a long, long time.
