You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Pros:
Too many pros to fit into this tiny space! The program automatically changes your inventory amounts as you delete each days menu/recipes you've made. Need to find out a different measurement? It's one click away! You can see at a glance which recipes have all the ingredients on hand. See my review for more pros!
Cons:
There aren't any! Version 2008 has more colors for those of you needing 'visual appeal'.
Review:

First, make sure you are buying v. 2008 in this purchase. I'm wondering if it is the 2005 version? This website doesn't give enough info to find out which version it is.

I've used this software since early 2006. After reading the reviews on this website, I had to leave a truer review of this software. The Living Cookbook is made to be your own personal cookbook. The recipes that come with the software are a jumping off point. You're supposed to add your own recipes to the software to make it YOUR OWN. The name "Living" Cookbook says it all.

As for needing it to be more colorful, when you add your own recipes there is an easy one click button that lets you add a photo. It's got a base of recipes to start with, add your own recipes, inventory, menus and it's a faaaabulous tool to help you save money.

I need to make my own flours and baking mixes (gluten free). I have a recipe for baking mix that replaces wheat flour in an ingredient. Instead of linking to wheat flour, this program lets me link to the flour recipe! I know this doesn't make sense if you've never seen the software, but if you "need" to link an ingredient you can't have to one you can, without retyping ALL your recipes to change that one ingredient...the program does it for you.

I found Living Cookbook about the same time I found out both my kids had asperger's syndrome (high functioning autism). This software changed my children's lives and my own. A gluten free diet removes the symptoms of autism from a child's life. Of course, you can certainly live a relatively normal life with asperger's. You don't HAVE to use a GF diet. But to remove autistic tendencies so easily, it's sooo worth the effort to go gluten free.

And this software helped me change my families lives.

Conclusion:

It's the best program available. I can't think of one thing I'd change or add. The developers of this software must be mind readers.
