Review:

Island Realms is an Arcade game in which you have to re-build an island from previous devastation, profit from the produce you grow and achieve goals to progress through the game.

You are a farmer and have just flown to the island by plane. You have the skills to produce food, such as tomatoes, olives, oranges, eggs etc. You can build structures such as houses, oil presses, schools etc. The food which you produce can be sold for money, and even refined into oils. The money you make can be spent to build structures.

Goals are achieved by growing food, and are awarded in gold, silver, and bronze cups. These goals are achieved by storing enough food in reserve, as quickly as possible.

Planting the seed is the first step, then maintaining the weeds and watering until the plant is ready for harvest. The watering container can be filled at the water tank. Once the crop is harvested, it must be put on the back of the truck, to be sent to market to be sold.

The graphics were a bit average and the gamplay easy, but a bit boring, but there is no violence and it is a good educational game which teaches children the basics of food production.

Conclusion:

A fun educational game which teaches children the basic managerial, farming and multi-tasking skills. Being very easy to play, the gameplay is all controlled by the mouse. A thumbs up from me for all the young budding market-gardeners out there.
