Review:

EditPlus is a text editor, HTML editor, PHP editor and Java editor for Windows. While it can serve as a good Notepad replacement, it also offers many powerful features for Web page authors and programmers.

Features include HTML toolbar, user tools, line number, ruler, URL highlighting, auto-completion, cliptext, column selection, powerful search and replace, multiple undo/redo, spell checker, customizable keyboard shortcuts, and more.

EditPlus is a 32-bit text editor for the Microsoft Windows operating system, developed by Sangil Kim of ES-Computing. The editor contains tools for programmers, including syntax highlighting, file type conversions, line ending conversion, regular expressions for search-and-replace.Files can be browsed and edited in tabs, and an internal file browser is implemented in the software.

I have been using editplus for my coding work since past 2 years. The best thing about the tool is its various color codes for the text. I've used the tool for coding in java as well as jsp, html, xml and web programming and in all, editplus proved to be extremely facilitative and fast.

Before I chanced on the opportunity to write this review, I have been using EditPlus for more than a year. As a web programmer, I rely a lot on a good IDE for my programming environment. Although it might not be the most user-friendly, it is a extremely capable IDE as a whole.

One of the more important reasons why I love EditPlus, is because of its syntax support for many different languages. If I want PHP, I have it. Need to switch to a html file? Just click a new html document.

Apart from Editplus, I've also been working with Textpad, but certain features of editplus including the tree directory structure for navigation apart from the tabbed one (Textpad also has tabbed navigation but not the tree directory structure), option of creating and importing new syntax highlighting scheme, auto-indentation of the code etc makes it much better option for the language developers.

Conclusion:

Best for those who love coding than wysiwyg softwares and for those starting up html and even for those who want to develop skills in coding.
