Review:

At first glance, one will be forgiven for thinking this is just another stock standard billiards game. However, on installation of the software you will quickly realize otherwise. The installation package looks very professional and installs swiftly without any annoying errors or requests. The placement of a clear and colorful desktop icon makes for easy location of the launch pad for this game. On opening the software you are greeted by a fairly simple menu screen which offers many options and preferences for getting your game going. You have three different game types to choose from, human or computer opponents as well as 5 different difficulty or skill levels. It has a network function as well, which will inevitably lead to some lost work time at the office. Under preferences you can select a myriad of options to customize your overall gaming experience, such as screen resolution, ball speed, hints, sound and optimization of graphics according to what your machine can handle.
A short and sweet help sections runs through the basic controls for the game to get you going.

Playability wise, this game is truly a masterpiece. The physics engine is spot on and ball deflections and speeds are right on the number, as is the case for the sound of the ball strike. At times it seems as if the ball rolls for that small fraction too long though. The graphics is surprisingly good for a low resource requirement, and 3D perspective is as would be expected. The bar stools in the room look a little blocky, and the grandfather clock with its jerky pendulum could be annoying to the perfectionist. However, perfect finer touches are not what we are looking for here. My attention is still drawn to the happenings on the table.

All round I find this to be an addictive little work of art, and no doubt it will annoy some bosses at the office.

Conclusion:

I would buy it. As simple as that. However I might request a discount from the developer first!
