Review:

The product features section of the description of this game describe it as "Intense, heartpounding action; Throught provoking puzzles; 120 Levels; and highly original gameplay." While I did not have access to the full version and its 120 levels, I can say that the puzzles I were able to play were less than thought provoking, as it was a simple point and click. The gameplay was somewhat original, using realistic physics to make the "puzzles" interesting. But I wouldn't go as far as "Intense, heartpounding action."

Starting the game, Wik & the fable of souls, you are brought to a tutorial screen where you learn the games mechanics. You're told to jump around, stick your tounge to different surfaces and collect coins. It's amusing to see the character Wik jumping around grabbing on to various surfaces, and once the game feels that you have a hang of it, it sends you to the next screen, where you're told to collect bugs with your tounge, and spit them at your trusty steed.

There are a small variety of challenges in the game, such as physics based challenges, where swinging to and fro from your tounge, and catapaulting yourself to a desired destination is key, Different kinds of enemies, such as ones that will kidnap the desired bugs, or ones that will poison you if eaten. With some bugs and other objects, you are able to lick them up and fire them at other bugs to deter them, or simply spit them away.

The art in the game is admirable. There are a veriety of scenarios to visit, from darkly lit forests, to strangely lit caves, and the in game effects add to the experience, simply in dazzling shows of light when a bug is gathered or an item is used. The music is also something worthy of note, nice, and relaxing in manner, and occasionally increasing in volume for effect.

The story line is enjoyable to follow, and you are updated every level with a little snippet. The story is told in rhyme, which is a rather cute medium for the game, and is also quite enjoyable.

Conclusion:

Interesting game that tells a unique story, with likeable characters, but lacks in gameplay originality.
