Review:

I am not big on midi sound track recording. In fact I have never done it before, and after trying Midi Maestro MM4 I'm not so sure that I should have began.

Upon opening the program you are presented with a simple and not very useful "tip box" and then a plain, grey scale, flat background screen. it has some basic controls and a file structure list on the side to select and sort through your midi tracks. The interface itself is decently laid out, but it is so bland that it makes it very hard to stand looking at for long periods of time.

The midi composing is actually pretty well done, although it could be a little easier to adjust the notes on the music sheet. The list of instruments that you can use to alter the sound of each note is fairly large, enough for a beginner like me to make a decent track. After getting to the point where I could no longer "wing" it I opened the help interface....very bad choice. The help interface just confused me more. Just looking for a simple answer is almost impossible with the amount of information, for a new user it was certainly overwhelming and caused me to figure it out on my own rather than searching through paragraphs of text.

Conclusion:

Overall Midi Maestro MM4 seems like it would be fine for an advanced user, but for newcomers it is not to be trifled with.
