Expensive, old but reliable

Pros: Recuperates data lost. Has a very small recovering data. It’s very easy to handle with. Different from other recovery programs, this one can also recover password protected documents. DOC Regenerator recovers corrupted or deleted docs from an entire disk. The exceptional thing is that it can also recover from formatted disk drives! Has a very good speed of recovering, and you don’t have to be experienced in order to use it. This can save your time and redeem your lost hopes. For many buyers, this is good because has simple commands, and uses the littlest CPU/RAM resource.
Cons: Maybe the greatest minus of this program is the fact that it doesn’t support latest windows version (vista). So, you can consider that this program is already “smoked”. This is a high security program, so why didn’t they make a password to protect it? You may have lots of intimate information that you want to recover just for yourself. Also, you can’t recover docs in 2007 office format. Maybe because of its simple use and commands, the aspect isn’t really glittering… If you want to search just a place in your computer for a doc that you need right now, you can’t. You have to scan the entire disk drives. The price seems to be way to much (for those who can’t afford it), but for others who are willing to throw their pennies away, this can be fair enough. You would like to create a single folder for this program, but you can’t recover and save files in the folder located on a drive. There are a lot of alternatives, so you have to make your search better, to give this amount of money for another program of this type, good looking and with improved features.

Pros: 30 days money back gurantee.Thats great.Recover the files and get your money back.On a long run its not compatible.
Cons: Hangs the xp operating system,a few documents get recovered in non-human readable form for which you need to a new software to make it readable.

Save yourself from doing hardwork again

Pros: 1)- Runs smoothly on all versions of Microsoft Windows. 2)- Recovers your word documents without any damage, loss of data or corrupting the text. 3)- Light weight, don't consume much system resources. 4)- Recovers documents even if you have formated, re-partitioned your drive, even more than once. 5)- Very user friendly, don't require any hardwork. 6)- Supports both FAT32 and NTFS file systems
Cons: 1)- Well, Graphical interface needs improvement, in today's world, look and feel matters a lot. 2)- Very costly, atleast for me. In this price, they should offer Regenerator for all office documents specially Excel and Powerpoint. 3)- I could not recover my Word 2007 files, so I will say it don't support Word 2007. 4)- There is no help included. Atleast, it should have a good help manual. 5)- Only working mode is to search one entire drive. What if you know the path of document before deletion. In that case, it takes too much time to search entire drive and come up with a lot of documents, out of which you have to choose your required one.

Pros: It can recover any type of M Word Documents up to 2003. Recovers protected, corrupted, deleted and overwritten documents.
Cons: First of all the price is way too high because most new age computers can do the same and probably even better. Most families and businesses have updated to computers that came out between 2004 and 2008. For this reason it may not be a very helpful program to those with new computers. It would be better if it could do that and add more interesting features. Also lower the price. It could also recover other documents and programs beside that of Microsoft Word.

Pros: A guaranteed back-up recovery system software for lost and forgotten files. Very compatible to an extent since it supports all versions of FAT and NTFS and amazingly recovers documents even from deleted partitions and reformatted disks.
Cons: Doesn't have a friendly user interface though which might discourage impatient users and also numerous windows operating system users might not trust this software since it's not windows certified.

"Somewhat" Effective & Works With VISTA

Pros: This is a lean application (7mb), and does not appear to be a resource hog. The software scans the entire disk for lost files and also worked well with Vista Home Premium SP1.
Cons: Pricey considering the lack of basic and advanced recovery options. You cannot restore data to a USB flash drive which I find very disappointing.
