Casual games should be casual

By aoi_sora9x on Fri, 2009-05-22 04:08
Pros: Some added flavors are unique
Cons: outdated graphic, poor gameplay
Casual games usually do not attract serious gamers, and game producers know this fact well enough. These small, little games that help you wasting time are meant to be played and forgotten. That...

Dated but fun

By yatzin on Fri, 2009-05-08 01:36
Pros: I enjoy playing word games from time to time and I am not that smart. This game takes my favorite things, crawling around in dungeons, leveling up, bonuses and word games and seems to mash them together pretty good. I like the boss fights too!
Cons: There is a few downsides to this game as it does seem a little clunky at first. As mentioned, it is pretty dated. I also think the timer you are given is kinda short and once you die there is no coming back. I believe you should be allowed to have three lives or something like in other games.
I half remember playing this game in the past, so I downloaded it and was excited to see it was the same game. Sure the graphics are dated, and fine the sounds are pretty simple. But the truth of the...

Great casual game circa 2000

By xtopher42 on Thu, 2009-05-07 10:53
Pros: Decent word creation gameplay, similar in essence to Boggle, no technical issues.
Cons: Graphics are horrible, game mechanics could be substantially but easily improved
Synopsis: Dungeon Scroll 2.0 is a decent word making game provided you don't mind the fact that the graphics make it look like it was written ten years ago. Analysis: The framework is that you're...

By bonjji on Sat, 2009-04-18 11:07
Pros: support globalization. suitable to play together with family and kids. Enhance your vocabulary.
Cons: poor graphic, non external music or selection supported on background music.
Like what wrote inside the introduction it is a word game with some RPG - like theme, but don't expect much, that you have experience like playing RPG games here where usually the RFG come with nice...

Original, but no effective.

By 04gusigo on Fri, 2009-04-17 22:02
Pros: Original idea - to fight with words.
Cons: The graphical interface is poor
Me myself, I actually got carried away with the game for a few minutes, but once I've started to run out words to fight back with, and as a result, died, I've lost all my interest in this game. When...

Not the RPG of your life

By TimoNator on Mon, 2009-03-30 14:49
Pros: Funny setting for a "Hangman"-type of game Some might enjoy killing skeletons with words
Cons: Very repetitive Gets boring quickly
Dungeon Scroll is the kind of game that combines the look of the old classic games like Eye of The Beholder to work with the idea from a game like "hangman" or similar word-games. The name of the...

Spellbinding Scrabble?

Pros: Very few bugs, Can kill some time
Cons: Not Worth the Cost, Gets Old Quickly
I'm willing to bet that just about everybody's played word games - Scrabble, for instance, may be the most popular. These types of games are proven to increase vocabulary and activity in certain...

Fun, and easy to get into - and then trip over.

By Satori on Fri, 2008-09-26 21:53
Pros: Straightforward interface and gameplay, Well-done atmosphere, Plenty of extra flourishes
Cons: Dictionary limitations, Wording constraints
While Dungeon Scroll seemed at first like it would be too simple to be really enjoyable, it simplicity actually allows you to get into playing it - at which point, it's more fun than you might have...

Original, fun game!

By evilfrenchguy on Sat, 2008-09-20 18:53
Pros: Fun and original gameplay. Neat powerups and enemies. Good price.
Cons: Can get hard early on. Don't get enough tiles to use.
Dungeon Scroll may not sound like a game worth your time, but don't turn it away. RPG and Puzzle fans alike will find enjoyment in most every aspect. The player is put into a level (dungeon) where...

Work In Progress

By Gaara on Fri, 2008-08-22 10:36
Pros: Originality; there are so many different games out there nowadays that you are hard pressed to find something original. Although it lacked many different qualities a good game should have, it does have the potential to become something special.
Cons: Poor graphics. Redundant dungeons and monsters take all the fun out of the game. The design is also poorly executed. Although the game is pitched as an RPG, it lacks any storyline whatsoever and does not give you freedom, which the average RPG would.
First off, I would like to give this an "A" for originality. You do not see many Role Playing Game(RPG)-themed, action games that revolve around the concept of Scrabble. With that said, this game...
